The Sunlight Rx: Your key to gut & mitochondrial health
When I began to learn about the great importance and healing powers of each spectrum of sunlight - including the demonized UV-A, UV-B and even UV-C spectrums - I knew we were being fed lies and blind beliefs based on bad science and flawed studies all of which have been designed to lead us to believe that sunshine is not only bad, but causes one of the most feared Neolithic diseases today, cancer. This couldn’t be further from the truth. In fact, studies performed between 1986-1990 showed that sunlight exposure prevents deep-seated cancers from developing and demonstrates remarkable evidence between sunlight exposure and a low incidence of internal cancers.
Since the invention of the incandescent bulb, human beings have moved more and more overtime away from living outdoor lives to living, working and playing primarily indoors. Today, indoor lifestyles not only cause a sunlight deficiency, but they lead to a non-native (nn) blue light toxicity. Our homes, work places, businesses including grocery stores, post offices, doctors offices and all commercial buildings are not structured to optimize sunshine.
Not only does artificial light - as well as a sunlight deficiency- lead to all Neolithic diseases, it also leads to an oversimplified gut microbiome, susceptibility to gut pathogens and leaky gut. The light you receive into your eyes, skin and gut surface is what sculpts your gut microbiome; your gut mcrobome is NOT determined by how many probiotics you take or how many fermented foods you eat like the popular culture and functional medicine doctors lead you to believe.
When you choose to live under the sun and away from artificial light, the diet you eat has zero impact on your gut micorbiome. This is because the gut microbiome is highly sculpted and influenced by the light you interact with on a daily basis.
